When Entering My Home
I was told recently that my home had "A Sense of Tranquility".
I like that a lot, I feel that is what I am striving for in my life.
At least my home has gotten there, me I'm still a work in progress.

What mood are you striving for in your home?
what/how are you growing in those jars? looks cool. i don't think i have ever walked in your house thru the front door but i sure love your entry. your home is definitely a "tranquil" vacation place for us. i agree with you, i want my house to be a place where people just want to breathe it in like fresh air.
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos!! i want our home to feel like a warm blanket... comfy and cozy.
ReplyDeleteI want my house to look and feel just like yours!! haha! you are so amazing at decorating!
ReplyDeleteI want my home to feel relaxing and welcoming...a place where people feel at home.
I love your hardwood floors! How big is your house? I love the long hallway. You don't have to tell me :) Where did you get your antique pitchers. I love them. I'm striving for a peaceful house...it's not always the case with 2 small children.
ReplyDeleteThe hardwood floors are wide plank hand scraped oak. Notice the way they they are stopped and change directions at doorways. It adds great interest. My house is about 4800 sg ft. The layout is great http://www.linenandthread.com/2012/02/february-giveaway.html. The antique pitchers were collected over time from flea markets and such.
DeleteGorgeous home! I love the color and all that light! I think your sea colors do a lot to offer tranquility to your guests. And I love all of your large paintings with the gold frames. Art is a hard one for me - I can tell what looks good in other peoples', but I have no idea how to pick anything for OUR house.
ReplyDeleteArt is a very personal thing. Remember true art is not purchased to go with your sofa. Pick what speaks to you. Use personal items, photos. My blog has a number of posts that might help. Check out some past posts.
DeleteJust beautiful!! I'll be featuring you next Monday night!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, can't wait to see! By the way I love your photoshop tips & tricks series.
DeleteWhat paint color is your door? I love it! I want to do a nice blue color like that to our door.
ReplyDeleteIt is drizzle from Sherwin Williams
DeleteI love it! The front door color and the pendant are just too much! I'm going to poke around to see more of your home:)
