a trip to the antique mart...

sent my mind spinning
so many great treasures where would i begin
i took some pictures of things i loved
i have already thought of ways to use some of them
but what i couldn't live without
 typography printing letters
and an antique jar to store them in
so they came home with me
i used some of the letters in today's "E F I"
{an easy fast inexpensive DIY}

valentine's pillow to use all year round
made of a piece of scrap linen and some burlap

here's how i did it
you will need :
2 - 20" pieces of burlap
8" square of linen
20" invisible zipper
typographical letters or stamps
stamp pad

press linen into quarters {see picture 1}
open linen {see picture 2}
choose color of letters and word to spell { see picture 3}
print letters working from the center using pressing lines as guide {see picture 4}
press burlap in quarters
place linen on top matching pressing lines, pin {see picture 5}
stitch around linen on sewing machine { see picture 6}

add zipper and stitch around pillow as in tutorial - embroidered pillow

tip: if you have a serger - serge around pillow, burlap is very loose and frays easily
or zigzag with sewing machine

have a great weekend!
take a minute to visit my etsy shoppe
all proceeds go to juvenile diabetes research foundation {jdrf.org}

  2. ah! love those letters. I've been wanting to order a collection from etsy - thought they'd be fun displayed on a photo frame ledge too! what a great project!
