living room part 2

looking at the details

bring the outdoors inside with plants and flowers.
i love the beautiful colors and fragrance they provide not to mention the beauty.
the flowers were a birthday present from my in-laws.

the quilts are handmade by me.  they are the same quilts i sell on my etsy shop

the ceramic bowls were bought on etsy, they are beautifully crafted.  another great find on etsy are the blue canning jars, i have them all over my house.  i often use them as vases or candle holders.
the books were a gift from my daughter-in-law, brooke.  they are a new  printing of f. scott fitzgerald, by penquin classics from amazon.  a great addition to my book collection.

i found this santos cage doll at a flea market in denver years ago, i love the worn patina.
it fits nicely into the theme of the room.
the papier mache bird is from stray dog designs, adds a bit of whimsy.

i made  the button monogram on natural linen.  it's important to personalize a space.  the frame was from potterybarn.  the rose colored glass apple and pear were wedding presents, still perfect after 36 years.  the beginnings of my collections.

the antique books were found on a couple of different etsy shops.  the masters of the vineyard was given to us by our other daughter-in-law, sarah.  it was a great gift because we are lucky enough have a small vineyard on our hillside.

i made the pillows from linen and grosgrain ribbon.  they soften the leather chairs
and welcome you to sit and stay a while.

the idea for the valances came from pinterest.  i love how easy they were to make,
but still look professional and tailored.  the turquoise color blends nicely
with the wall color and pops against the white moldings.

i love collecting books, as seen in many of these pictures.
i believe books add soul to any room and tell a story about who lives in the home.
i also want to thank my daughter joy for helping take the pictures.
